Michelle Graunke

Michelle represents families and professionals in matters of guardianship, trusts, probate administration, and estate planning. Advising and representing clients as they navigate life’s most difficult challenges brings Michelle great joy and satisfaction.

Michelle has practiced elder law since 1998, representing individuals, family members, and professional fiduciaries. She has particular expertise in difficult guardianship and trust matters, including cases involving disability and settlements related to personal injury. Michelle was recently named a Super Lawyer in the area of Estate Planning and Probate

Michelle is often appointed by the court as a guardian ad litem in probate and trust matters.  She is a member and former chair of both the Washington State Bar Association Elder Law Section and the King County Bar Association Guardianship and Elder Law Section.

When not working, Michelle enjoys traveling with her husband, studying and tasting wine, enjoying the outdoors, and most of all, spending time with her family and especially her seven precious grandchildren. She has been voted best lawyer in the Graunke family for 22 straight years.

Miriam Ayoub

Miriam received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and has practiced in the area of elder law since graduating from Seattle University School of Law in 2011. She joined the firm in 2016 and became a shareholder in 2021.

Miriam’s focus includes probates, guardianships, conservatorships, trust administration, committed intimate relationships, and estate planning. She is also often appointed by the court to serve as a Court Visitor, Probate Guardian ad Litem, and Special Representative. She enjoys all aspects of elder law, but especially appreciates being able to support individuals and families through their legal issues.

In 2020 and 2021, Miriam was selected by peer recognition and professional achievement as a SuperLawyer Rising Star.  In addition to practicing law, Miriam also serves as an elder law adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law.

Miriam is a member of the Washington Bar Association and the King County Bar Association.  She is the former chair of both the Washington State Bar Association Elder Law Section and the King County Bar Association Guardianship and Elder Law Section, and she continues to serve on both boards.

Sage Graves Slugić

Sage graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2016. Otherwise a Washington native, Sage earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2010, majoring in sociology.

Sage joined Graunke Ayoub Law in 2022, having previously practiced at Hickman Menashe, P.S., since 2016. Sage focuses primarily on guardianship/conservatorship law, special needs trusts, estate planning, and trust administration. She is a member of the King and Snohomish Bar Associations and is the 2022-23 Chair of the Elder Law Section to the Washington State Bar Association. She is a Title 11 Court Visitor in Snohomish County and a member of the Title 11 Court Visitor Training Committee.

In 2022, Sage was named as a SuperLawyers Rising Star in the practice area of elder law. She regularly speaks before local and state-wide audiences on guardianship/conservatorship issues, and she is the author of the guardianship/conservatorship chapter of the King County Bar Association’s Washington Practice Lawyers Manual.

Sage enjoys spending time outside with her husband, friends, and family. She loves all furry friends, is an avid runner, and has never met a form of potato she didn’t like.

Kate Shreiner

A Seattle-area local, Kate earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington before moving to the desert to attend the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Kate is a member of the Washington State and King County Bar Associations, and the Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust sections.

 Kate joined Graunke Ayoub Law in 2022. Prior to practicing law, Kate worked as a Financial Manager at a professional fiduciary corporation. As a Financial Manager, Kate worked alongside a wide variety of clients and their families in trust, estate, guardianship and conservatorship, and agency relationship administrations. As an attorney, Kate values helping people find practical solutions to the complex and deeply personal legal challenges that affect individuals and families in this practice area. 

 During her free time, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
